WEEKEND WORKSHOP
WABI-SABI WITH JAPANESE KURINUKI TECHNIQUE

Wabi-sabi is a term for accepting transience, imperfection, incompleteness, which is a unique way of the ceramic technique - kurinuki.

Kurinuki is a traditional Japanese ceramic technique of carving a vessel from a single block of clay.

Each piece created thus becomes a unique original sculptural work.

So let's make a  wabisabi weekend, when we put aside expectations, hassle, pressure for performance and, conversely, we enjoy the playful imperfection hidden in kurinuki.

Let's relax, perceive the clay, its structure, weight, consistency, flow the kurinuki technique on the waves of meditative work with the clay and create a few unique, carved pieces with soul, such as cut mugs, bowls or small vases.
