MY STORY
Hi, my name is Katerina and I have been discovering different approaches to ceramics and porcelain for over 16 years.
After several years of fascination and work with fine white porcelain, while studying at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, I was given the opportunity to go as an exchange student to South Korea, where I returned my gaze to the beauty of clay and the breadth of ceramic crafts.
For me, this creative process has become a meditative activity, during which I mainly focus on exploring the possibilities of shapes and textures of glazes. My aim is to put soul into the ceramic products that surround us every day, and where even a subtle difference in morphology can evoke different emotions in each of us.
was born out of a desire to open a small ceramic workshop where I will create and you will be able to stop by, chat with me, buy my ceramics or make it yourself at one of my courses and workshops.
Find the right place took longer than I expected but I think in the end was worth the time. :-) It was necessary to overcome the hardships of Covid and prepare everything properly. A small workshop unexpectedly became a much bigger and longer project, in which I put all my strength and involved many friends and a significant part of my family.
But finally this place was created - a studio with a shop and my temple, which I now perceive primarily as a sanctuary, where we feel free resort to ourselves. For a brief moment, we allow ourselves to switch off, just be, create and experience "The clay therapy".
