Are you looking for an activity that would help you relax, recharge your batteries, turn off your mind after a busy day at work and simply create an opportunity to implement your ideas? It is exactly for this purpose that working with clay is perfect.

Ceramics, as well as yoga, for example, can be relaxing for many people, and if you embark on it without too much demand on yourself, and with the choice to enjoy the time creating something unique, working with clay can be delightfully meditative and the results, pleasing.

Clay is also a material that never ceases to surprise us. For me, each firing gives me similar feeling when, as a little girl, I waited for Christmas and wondered what I might find under the tree. You never know exactly what will come out of the kiln, and it's always a big surprise. :-)

That's why I invite you, come and make your own bowl, cup, plate, vase or any other thing according to your own design, which will make you or your surrounding happy, and will keep you holding your breath, as the result will eventually turn out special. I will be happy to guide you through the entire production process and give you a choice of topics and options for processing and decorating ceramics.

COURSE CONCEPT

The process of creating ceramics has its specifics, individual technological phases and nothing can be rushed, so I think that 3 hours a week is optimal for work.

 

POSSIBILITIES OF CREATION TO BE ADAPTED DURING THE COURSE

• Handbuilding, Pinching, Slab Construction, Coil Construction  (mug, bowls, vases, etc.)

• If you are interested in trying throwing, one pottery wheel from the Japanese brand shimpo is available.

 

DECORATIONAL TECHNIQUES

• Sgraffito

• Covering or painting with engobes 

• Painting with oxides, especially cobalt

• Engraving etc.

 

MATERIAL

• Clay: There will be two different types of clays.

• Decorating: Multicolored engobes will be used to paint your pieces of clay. They will be applied with a brush to already engraved motifs, or, conversely, engraved into painted parts. Stones can be used to polish the surface.
   

LEVEL

As the capacity of the course is limited, so that the atmosphere is still intimate, the approach is largely individual, and therefore your level in the predefined possibilities of creation.​

• An apron or an old T-shirt that doesn't matter if it get dirty or destroyed.

I recommend short nails if you don't want to constantly clean scratches :)​
